Electronic price labeling in sports & leisure retail

Leisure is one of the largest areas in retail and can be broken down into many other sub-categories. One of them is sport or fitness, which also includes bicycle dealers. The big challenge for these companies is to find flexible and efficient solutions for the price labeling of several hundred products in sometimes very large stores. In addition, the prices across numerous branches and the online shop must be uniform and able to adapt quickly to special promotions.

The use of electronic price tags is ideal here. One example is our customer Fahrrad XXL, for whose huge bike store we have implemented a dynamic product labeling solution with ESL and a software linked to the internal merchandise management system. A test at the Griesheim location was followed by regular roll-outs in other branches of the group throughout Germany.

The company was won over by the advantages of the ESL solution, as employees no longer have to manually replace price tags. Instead, the prices are managed centrally with a direct connection to the existing merchandise management system for faster processes and automated price labeling synchronized with the online shop. This promises transparency and competitiveness in terms of price online and on site.
