Puma Tools – Digital price labelling in the tool trade
Puma Tools is a Hungarian specialist tool retailer that primarily supplies workshops, service companies and private customers in the automotive industry. In 2022, almost 10,000 digital price tags from SoluM's Newton product family were introduced in the store.
The electronic labels play a dual role at Puma Tools: they improve the information available to customers and at the same time support employees in their day-to-day business. The LED function of the labels is particularly innovative. Flashing, seven-colour LEDs make it easier for warehouse staff to pick web shop orders quickly and accurately, and also indicate the need for refills directly on the shelf.

Digital price tags also show their strengths when it comes to special promotions: with just one click, hundreds or even thousands of products can be integrated into a discount campaign at once. This eliminates time-consuming manual preparations and frees up staff capacity for more important tasks such as processing online orders or advising customers.
Modern shopping experiences through innovation
Puma Tools also uses LEDs to make it easier for customers to find products in the shop. Items they are looking for can be highlighted directly on the computer, making them easier to find. The company is currently working on another innovation: in future, digital price tags will be linked to a virtual shopping basket. This would allow customers to compile their desired products in advance and, upon entering the store, be guided directly to the appropriate shelves by flashing LEDs.
Puma Tools impressively demonstrates how digital technology can be successfully integrated into traditional retail. The company is not only optimising internal work processes, but also creating a modern shopping experience that appeals to both employees and customers.
